op-19Economists are increasingly called upon by bureaucrats and government official for policy advice. But economists have not always been able to present their ideas effectively. Many basic concepts of economics such as ‘markets’, ‘competition’, ‘deregulation’, and ‘efficiency’ are automatically dismissed because they have come to be misunderstood.
