Liberty, Justice and the Market

Lauchlan Chipman | OP6 | 12 December 1981

op-6Orthodox opinion seems unable to accept the idea that a free market is not only the most efficient way of organising the economic affairs of society, but also that it does so in a manner consistent with fundamental principles of justice and freedom. Lauchlan Chipman challenges us not only to reject the notion that there is a conflict between liberty, justice and the market, but to accept the idea that they are mutually supportive.
