NT MP Alison Anderson MLA will talk about remote community "dead-end jobs" funded by the taxpayer, such as park ranger positions and Aboriginal teacher assistant roles, advocating that these be phased out. Raised in NT communities, Alison is fluent in several Aboriginal languages and has spent her life trying to improve the conditions of people living in Central Australia.

Alison has served on the Aboriginal Development Commission and as an ATSIC Commissioner. She has been a senior member of various influential boards, including the Desert Knowledge Co-operative Research Centre, Flinders University Centre for Remote Health, and the NT Government Indigenous Economic Strategy Task Force.
