jsammutEvery year, as the federal government shells out for bulk billed GP visits, and one in every three patients waits longer than is clinically safe for surgery, billions of dollars and thousands of hours are wasted. The days of no queues for hospital treatment are a distant memory, and the inequities of Medicare and the resulting health reforms necessary to properly protect people against ill-health are pressing issues. In his Meet the Researchers lecture, CIS Research Fellow Dr Jeremy Sammut will discuss Medicare misspending as outlined in his report How! Not How Much: Medicare Spending and Health Resource Allocation in Australia, due out in March.
