simon_cowanWith a potential cost of $40 billion, the replacement of Australia’s six Collins Class submarines with 12 Future Submarines is the largest and most complex defence project Australia has ever undertaken. Unfortunately, poor decision-making and delays are threatening to sink the project before it has even set sail.

In this Meet the Researcher lecture, CIS Research Fellow Simon Cowan will look at the case for an Australian nuclear-powered submarine and explain why doing the Collins Class all over again might give us another generation of ‘dud subs’.

This event will be streamed live at 6pm. Viewers can ask questions via Twitter using the hashtag #CISEvents.

The registration period is from 09 October 2012 18:00 to 05 November 2012 16:00
